Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Metal Work Recertification (AWMWR / MSOC Recertification)
FOR WHOM
Individuals who have an employment status as manual labour to carry out work in a factory engaged in the manufacture of basic metals, fabricated metal products, machinery or equipment and electrical machinery and apparatus.
Individuals are required to attend a 1 day course (consisting of 8 hours facilitated learning, 1 hour 15 minutes of assessment).
OVERVIEW
To streamline safety training and reduce repetitive training, MOM work permit-linked safety orientation courses for the Process and related industries have transited to the WSQ System. These mandated safety courses will equip the workers and supervisors with the essential competencies to work safely in the Process and related industries.
Formerly known as Metalworking Safety Orientation Course Recertification (MSOC Recertification), this course is now known as Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Metal Work Recertification (AWMWR).

OBJECTIVE
By the end of the course, learners should be competently trained with the knowledge and application skills to apply workplace safety and health in metal work to meet WSH legislative requirements.
THEORY & PRACTICAL
This Competency Unit (CU) covers the Competency Elements (CE) as listed below:
- CE 1 Identify own roles and responsibilities as an employee in a construction job
- CE 2 Follow safe work procedures in a construction job
- CE 3 Respond to fire emergencies
RELATED COURSES
^ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / *ASSUMED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
^At least 18 years of age
^Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Holders of valid employment pass / work permit
*Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 2 and above, or equivalent
*Be physically and mentally fit for the training, without any handicaps
*Have good organisational skills and be able to follow written and oral work instructions
#Possess a valid Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Metal Work Certificate for Recertification
Note :
- Proof of highest education certificate is recommended
- Those 70 years and above must produce a medical certificate of physical fitness
