Have employment status as manual labour to carry out construction work in building and engineering construction worksites They are required to attend a 2 days course (consisting of 16 hours of facilitated learning and 2 hours of assessment).
OVERVIEW
MOM work permit-linked safety orientation courses for the relevant industries have been transited to the WSQ System. These mandated safety courses will equip the workers and supervisors with the essential competencies to work safely in the Process and related industries.

OBJECTIVE
By the end of the course, learners should be competently trained with the knowledge and application skills to apply workplace safety and health in construction sites to meet WSH legislative requirements.
THEORY & PRACTICAL
This Competency Unit (CU) covers the Competency Elements (CE) as listed below:
- CE 1 Identify own roles and responsibilities as an employee in a construction job
- CE 2 Follow safe work procedures in a construction job
- CE 3 Follow safe “Work-at-Height” procedures
- CE 4 Respond to fire emergencies

^ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / *ASSUMED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
^At least 18 years of age
^Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Holders of valid employment pass / work permit
*Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 2 and above, or equivalent

Who must attend this course?
Workers who do manual work at building and engineering construction worksites. MOM requires migrant workers in the construction industry to complete this course, or the Construction Safety Orientation Course, before their Work Permit is issued.
When must a new migrant worker complete it?
Within 2 weeks of arriving in Singapore. The worker must pass it within 3 months of arrival, or the Work Permit may be revoked.
How long is the certificate valid?
For migrant workers, MOM requires the course to be passed again once every 2 years if they have worked in the construction sector for 6 years or less, or once every 4 years if they have worked there for more than 6 years. At Work Permit renewal, the certificate must be valid for more than 1 month. Renew it with the CSOC Recertification course.
