This is only applicable to learners who possess a valid “Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites (AWCS or formerly known as CSOC)” safety pass to be eligible to attend the CSOC recertification assessment.

OVERVIEW
MOM work permit-linked safety orientation courses for the relevant industries have been transited to the WSQ System. These mandated safety courses will equip the workers and supervisors with the essential competencies to work safely in the Process and related industries.

OBJECTIVE
By the end of the course, learners should be competently trained with the knowledge and application skills to apply workplace safety and health in construction sites to meet WSH legislative requirements. You will renew your Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) safety pass, with an extension of 2 or 4 years depending on your work experience in the industry.
THEORY & PRACTICAL
This Competency Unit (CU) covers the Competency Elements (CE) as listed below:
- CE 1 Identify own roles and responsibilities as an employee in a construction job
- CE 2 Follow safe work procedures in a construction job
- CE 3 Follow safe “Work-at-Height” procedures
- CE 4 Respond to fire emergencies

^ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / *ASSUMED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
^At least 18 years of age
^Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Holders of valid employment pass / work permit
*Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 2 and above, or equivalent
*Be physically and mentally fit for the training, without any handicaps
*Fit to work at height
*Have good organisational skills and be able to follow written and oral work instructions

*Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded under the Singapore Workforce Qualifications (WSQ) Framework to the learners upon completion of the course in English medium only.

Frequently asked questions
Who is this course for?
Workers who hold a valid Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites (CSOC) certificate and need to renew it.
How often must I recertify?
For migrant workers, MOM requires the course to be passed again once every 2 years if they have worked in the construction sector for 6 years or less, or once every 4 years if they have worked there for more than 6 years. At Work Permit renewal, the certificate must be valid for more than 1 month.
What happens if I fail?
MOM sets no limit on the number of attempts, but you must pass within 3 months of your certificate’s expiry date, or your Work Permit may be revoked. If you fail, MOM requires you to complete the full Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites course and the WSH Microlearning Programme before retaking the assessment.

4 hours, 8.00am to 12.00pm or 1.00pm to 5.00pm, at THT Academy, Woodlands Spectrum 1, 2 Woodlands Sector 1, #01-03, Singapore 738068.
