About this course
This course aims to equip learners with the technical and conceptual skills essential to enhance and modify photographic images for artistic and professional purposes. It introduces learners with essential design ideas, image processing methodologies, and industry standards for assessing, enhancing, and generating optimised image outputs. The course also incorporates legal and sustainability considerations, enabling learners to work responsibly in diverse image production settings.
The course is designed for individuals with basic knowledge or experience in photography or digital content creation, offering practical practice with image editing software and workflow tools that meet professional standards. Upon completion, learners will be equipped to utilise these abilities in diverse professions across photography, media, marketing, and content development industries.
What You’ll Learn
Learners will develop the ability to:
- Apply design elements and principles to improve the composition and visual impact of images.
- Comply with intellectual property, privacy, and legal requirements during image manipulation processes.
- Assess work prints and image files for quality, sustainability, and suitability for enhancement.
- Execute a range of image editing, processing, enhancement and manipulation techniques to produce optimal outputs using industry-relevant software.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (ASSUMED / PREFERRED TO HAVE)
- Basic digital literacy (computer or mobile device use)
- Able to perform tasks such as browsing, saving files, and using editing apps or software
- Some prior experience in image-related tasks (e.g. taking photos, basic editing, creating visuals for work, study or business)
- Able to understand and follow instructions in English
- Positive learning attitude and willingness to explore creative techniques
- Suitable for adult learners aged 21 and above from all backgrounds
