This WSQ OLC Assessment only Pathway (AOP) only applies to the experienced Lorry Crane Operators with certificate of training issued by manufacturers or training providers (e.g. Tat Hong, Palfinger, Hiap etc) or Employer’s letter to testify at least 3 years of relevant experience in lorry crane operations*.
CONTENTS
The AOP consists of 1 hour written test and 1 hour practical test.

The Generic Manufacturing Skills (GMS) WSQ framework aims to raise the professionalism of the manufacturing industry by equipping the workforce with essential generic and portable skills to adapt and be resilient to challenges in the dynamic working environment. OBJECTIVE
By the end of the course, learners should be competently trained with the knowledge and application skills in carrying out lorry crane operations to meet WSH legislative requirements.
THEORY & PRACTICAL
“Operate Lorry Crane” is a Competency Unit (CU) under the Logistics Competency Category. The Competency Elements (CE) covered are:-
- CE1 : Conduct Routine Checks
- CE2 : Plan for Lifting Operations
- CE3 : Set Up Crane
- CE4 : Lift and Transfer Load
- CE5 : Shut Down and Secure Crane

^Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Holders of valid employment pass / work permit

- Learner who failed the written test has to attend the theory lesson and written test (WSQ OLC-T) and pass the written test before proceeding to practical test.
- Please attach a copy of relevant certificate or Employer’s letter at time of application.
CERTIFICATION
Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded under the Singapore Workforce Qualifications (WSQ) Framework to the learners upon completion of the course.
For learners who passed the theory and practical tests, THT Academy Pte Ltd will issue a course pass with a validity period of 5 years from the assessment date
SAFETY ATTIRES
Learners are required to wear their safety shoes/boots for the practical lesson/test. Safety helmet is provided by the training centre.

Who can take the Assessment Only Pathway?
Experienced lorry crane operators with a certificate of training from a manufacturer or training provider, or an employer’s letter confirming at least 3 years of relevant lorry crane experience. Attach the certificate or letter when you apply.
What does it involve?
A 1-hour written test and a 1-hour practical test, 8.00am to 12.00pm or 1.00pm to 5.00pm, at THT Academy, Woodlands Spectrum 1, 2 Woodlands Sector 1, #01-03, Singapore 738068. You can join a free 2-hour tutorial beforehand to prepare for the written test.
What if I fail the written test?
You must attend the theory lesson and pass the written test before you can take the practical test.
How much does it cost, and is it funded?
$350 + GST per learner before funding. There is currently a promotion on this course for weekday classes (non-funded participants only). See the promotional price at the top of this page. How long is the certificate valid?
Learners who pass both tests receive a WSQ Statement of Attainment, and THT Academy issues a course pass valid for 5 years from the assessment date.
