Perform Formwork Activities
FOR WHOM
The “Perform Formwork Activities” is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers performing formwork activities works in construction sites and related industries.
They are required to attend a 1 day course (consisting of 6 hours facilitated learning, 1 hour of assessment).
OVERVIEW
To streamline safety training and reduce repetitive training, MOM Workplace Safety and Health related courses have transited to the WSQ System.
These mandated safety courses will equip workers and supervisors with the essential competencies to work safely in the construction and other related industries.

OBJECTIVE
By the end of the course, learners should be competently trained with the knowledge and application skills performing formwork activities in construction and other industries.
THEORY & PRACTICAL
This Competency Unit (CU) covers the Performance Statements (PS) as listed below:
- PS1. State the applicable legal and other requirements for formwork and working-at-height
- PS2. List the roles of a worker in formwork installation, alteration and dismantling
- PS3. State the types of formwork used in the industry
- PS4. Apply basic risk assessment for formwork activities
- PS5. Identify hazards associated with formwork activities
- PS6. Observe safety and health measures for formwork activities
- PS7. Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for formwork activities and Working-At-Height
RELATED COURSES
^ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / *ASSUMED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
^At least 18 years of age
^Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Holders of valid employment pass / work permit
*Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 3 and above, or equivalent
*Be physically and mentally fit for the training, without any handicaps
Note :
- Proof of highest education certificate is recommended
- Those 70 years and above must produce a medical certificate of physical fitness

CERTIFICATION
*Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded under the Singapore Workforce Qualifications (WSQ) Framework to the learners upon completion of the course in English medium only.
